AusCAP is a volunteer not-for-profit organisation whose mission statement is ‘to serve the community by providing aerial support in times of need’.
Our operations have grown to include airborne emergency transport of personnel and equipment, maritime searches, overland searches, and transporting people from remote areas who require critical medical treatment (Angel flights).
AusCAP is also a proud participant in the annual Fun Flight Day, providing pilots and aircraft to give ill children the opportunity to experience the joy of flight.
We have also recently established a drone team of CASA accredited pilots and support personnel which will deploy alongside our fixed wing aerial team or as a standalone capability in search and rescue operations.
AusCAP is keen to welcome new members. You can join as a pilot, observer, ground crew or support staff. If you have an interest in aviation and would like to contribute to helping the community in times of need then you are the sort of person we want.
You will be required to attend training days and maintain a proficiency with regards to the skills required for search and rescue (SAR) support operations.
You may be called upon at short notice to respond to a SAR mission pending your availability and commitments. As a member of AusCAP you will have these opportunities as well as being a member of a professional dedicated team of people.
The Australian Charities & Not for Profit Commission (ACNC) awarded AusCAP the green tick
as a valid Registered Charity.
ACNC’s Charity Register classifies AusCAP as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). The Australian Taxation Office classifies AusCAP as a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI).
These classifications mean donations of over $2 are fully tax deductible.
