A critical capability supporting AusCAP's mission is our drone team which utilises DJI Matrice 30Ts. These highly capable drones utilise multiple cameras allowing us to support search operations with infrared, range finding and zoom.
We operate teams of at least 2 people, one as pilot and the other as camera operator
Drone teams can be deployed as either a stand-alone capability or in partnership with our fixed wing team who would fly our personnel along with equipment to a particular mission location.
We are always looking for new pilots, camera operators and support personnel. You do not need prior experience, just a passion and interest in helping the community and in drones!
As part of your training, you will build the required skills to operate the drone in whichever role you are interested in. As a pilot, you will also need to get formal CASA accreditation and licensing as a drone pilot before you can conduct formal missions.
